SWIM (Save Water In Masasi) 2016

This fundraising initiative is to take place around the 25th September 2016 and we are asking supporters to hold ‘Coffee and Cake Mornings’ with all the proceeds raised to be used to fund two water projects chosen by Bishop James. There are further pages with support material for this event.

PLEASE NOTE that you will need to press ‘enable editing’ in order for the page to appear correctly in Microsoft WORD so as it can be printed. The two water projects are as follows:-

ADDITIONAL GUTTERING FOR MTANDI CATHEDRAL

The cathedral at Mtandi has underground cisterns to store water and there is guttering around the north side and a small length on the south side, we would be extending the guttering to complete the north side and increase the capacity for water capture. These pictures below show what the guttering looks like now.

NEW WATER COLLECTION AND STORAGE SYSTEMS AT RONDO SCHOOL AND SEMINARY

The growth in students at the successful Rondo School, together with the addition of a sixth form, has meant pressure on the availability of water at the school site on top of the plateau. The proposal is to increase the capacity to capture water from the roofs of some of the new sixth form buildings and other school  roofs, which currently do not have any guttering, with the provision of storage tanks to hold the extra rain water. They will be similar to these tank on the dormitories and other buildings.
